Introducing Steeley McQueen at the Poltimore Inn, North Molton in North Devon

The Poltimore Inn is based in North Molton on the edge of Exmoor in North Devon, easy to access from the main A361 North Devon Link Road and offers a warm welcome to bikers of all ages. The Poltimore Inn serves great food sourced locally as well as real ales from local breweries.

The latest addition to The Poltimore Inn is Steeley McQueen, a life size sculpture built in welded stainless steel of the legendary Steve McQueen. The sculpture was created by a local sculptor from Lee Bay and is displayed at the Poltimore Inn to welcome bikers to our pub. The bike is actually a 1950’s Enfield and not the 1962 Triumph TR6 650 Special used for the Great Escape. The Sculpture is made entirely from stainless steel and will usually be found in the gardens along with other sculptures at the Poltimore Inn.

Steeley McQueen will be used to promote the Poltimore Inn as a great venue for bikers to stop off, eat, drink and sleep on their tours of the South West and also for charity fund raising events. The Poltimore Inn is a long standing fund raiser for The North Devon Hospice and Steeley McQueen will be used to support fundraising events for the hospice. The sculpture has already visited several great villages in Devon and Cornwall for various events from fund raisers to village fayres. Bikers are well known for fundraising events and Steeley McQueen will be appearing at future events in Devon and Cornwall so make sure that you look out for him.

Steeley McQueen will also be taking a trip to London to the Devitt MCN London Motorcycle show where the Poltimore Inn will be displaying him as a means of promoting the pub and the lodges for bikers to visit. The show takes place on the 17^th to 19^th of February 2023 and is a fantastic event to visit. He will also be taking a trip to Birmingham where you can see him at the Motorcycle Live 2023 show at the NEC Birmingham on the 18^th to 26^th of November 2023 to support the pub.

The Poltimore Inn is a brilliant place for bikers to stop off and spend the night during tours of the South West of England. We have 5 modern lodges/pods in the grounds of the Poltimore Inn offering affordable accommodation that can be booked for 2 or more nights. All of the lodges have their own secure bike stands so you can ride your bike right up to where you are staying. All of the lodges have 2 separate rooms, available to be booked individually or both together and each room sleeps 2 people. They all have a tv, central heating, towels, bed linen and a shower room with a full English breakfast included in the price.
