Experience great value dining at the Poltimore Inn with constantly changing menus that are driven by our customers, great value food, locally sourced and cooked on the premises.

The food philosophy of the Poltimore Inn is unique in itself. Wherever possible, ingredients are sourced locally and cooked on the premises. From the line caught wild trout to our hand made barbecue sauce, cooked from our own smoked tomatoes, every element of our menu is carefully selected to provide mouth-watering taste and look appetizing.

Locally Sourced, Cooked in the Pub and Full of Flavour

Backing local businesses and people forms part of the ethics of the Poltimore Inn purchasing policy. Our fish is sourced locally whenever we can, with suppliers from Brixham in South Devon and Clovelly in North Devon bringing in the bulk of our fish. Our trout is always line caught wild trout, our shellfish is landed at Lynmouth and even our cheeses are supplied by a local business. The Poltimore Inn doesn’t need to go the extra mile, we get our food from suppliers as close to us as possible!

The Poltimore Inn has a very unique smoker, used to create fantastic flavours and bespoke made from the cylinders of a submarine and the axle of an Austin A12. Our fantastic smoker adds stunning flavours to a range of dishes from smoked brisket, shoulder of pork, short beef ribs, chicken and pheasant breast to experimental foods such as cheese and our popular smoked tomato based barbecue sauce.

Our popular platters are constantly changing and are served on our own hand made platter plates.  With many of the platter dishes serving food that from beginning to end, is homemade and locally sourced, the Poltimore Inn Platters are bursting with flavour and offer great value for money.
